‘True Blood’ season 7 spoilers: The hunt for Alexander Skarsgard’s Eric Northman

Alexander Skarsgard seems to be constantly a main event in the “True Blood” universe, even when his character is not present. Therefore, it’s only appropriate that we would spend some time talking about him before the season 7 premiere arrives on HBO Sunday night (even more than we already have).

This time around, we feel like it is somewhat useful to get the perspective of someone who is deeply involved in what his story will be, and that is none other than Kristin Bauer van Straten. Speaking to TVLine, she explained that a Pam-and-Eric arc for this final season is very appropriate, but there is also a certain percentage of her tale that is introspective at the same time:

“I’m on the hunt for Eric; I would cross oceans for him — and I do … It’s a huge year in terms of emotions and relationships, which is so fitting because it is the last season.”

We know that eventually, Eric will be a bigger part of the season onscreen than he is at the very beginning, but there are still some mysteries that go along with that. For example, is he really happy to see Pam, and is he damaged in any way by being stuck out in the sun and the snow? How in the world is he going to tie into what is happening back in Louisiana given his time traveling the world? We are not entirely sure that Eric needs a happy ending so much as a fitting one, and the only thing we would be extremely upset about is if he doesn’t get the screen time that he really deserves at this point.
