‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8: Kunal Nayyar, Simon Helberg, Jim Parsons reflect, look forward

Here it is -The Big Bang Theory” is one of hardest shows out there to get a whole lot of news on during the summer hiatus, and for a number of different reasons. For one, this is a show that starts production later than most thanks to its format, and has a writers room that keeps things pretty hush-hush. Also, it is a comedy, and more of the focus is on making people laugh rather than fleshing out some twisty storyline.

Nonetheless, the general consensus we get from the new video interviews with Kunal Nayyar (Raj), Simon Helberg (Howard), and Jim Parsons (Sheldon) with GoldDerby is that all three of them trust the writers implicitly, and are never too worried one way or the other when it comes to the future of their characters. No one knows a whole lot about where the story is going from here, and that has to be the most frustrating for Jim given that Sheldon could be spending all summer seeing the world on a train.

These interviews are meant to promote the show for Emmy consideration, and we do feel like all three of them have a shot. Kunal is someone we put our own dream ballot for the Supporting Actor in a Comedy category, given that Raj had a great year, and he has always been one of the series’ unsung heroes over the past several years.

The new season of “The Big Bang Theory” is set to premiere on a Monday this year, thanks to the CBS decision to air football on Thursdays for a handful of weeks. Stay tuned for more on that.
