2014 Critics Choice TV Awards: Where to live stream red carpet pre-show
While the Critics Choice TV Awards may not be the biggest awards show for the medium, but it is probably our favorite for a number of different reasons.
For one, this is the awards show that really does tend to honor some of the best and brightest in TV, and rarely gives in to populism or voters being lazy. The critics really choose to highlight shows and actors who are often overlooked else; “Community,” for example, is a previous big winner at the show, and they have been routinely shafted throughout their run by the folks over at the Emmys.
We’ll just have to see how things shake down tonight. While this ceremony has in the past aired in a streaming-only format, this year they do have a broadcast partner in the United States in The CW. Therefore, don’t fall for most of the articles boasting about having live streams for the show itself tonight; if they actually exit, they are from unauthorized sources much like they always are.
The only official feeds are for the red-carpet pre-show, which starts at 6:00 p.m. Eastern time and will feature some of the arrivals. There is an element of fashion to this show, but it has never been as formal or as serious as what we have seen from some other shows like the Golden Globes or the Emmys. Local station KTLA is where you can find the stream for that, but it will not be starting early. (In other words, don’t be alarmed to go over beforehand and find nothing.)
