‘Major Crimes’ season 3, episode 3 preview: First look at ‘Frozen Assets’

Is “Major Crimes” addressing a story that is ripped from the headlines? We wouldn’t exactly say that, mostly because the headlines that “Frozen Assets” are focusing on here are ones that happened so far in the past that it is hard to remember that they were ever headlines at all.

What we are referring to primarily here is the story of Leona Helmsley, who famously left her estate to her dog. This became a punchline on many late-night talk shows, and that made this story last longer than it probably had any business being.

For some more updates on what the case will specifically be about for this episode, just take a look at the synopsis below from TNT:

The Major Crimes division faces a new challenge as they work to solve the murder of a dog that was left a 20 million dollar estate by his deceased owner. With the help of wannabe detective Jonathan Baird, aka Dick Tracy, (guest star Andrew Daly), the case takes a new turn as the squad begins to suspect foul play in the death of the dog’s owner, a wealthy heiress.”

This looks to be an interesting case for so many reasons, with the primary one being that there aren’t a whole lot of mystery shows out there that choose to feature a dog first and foremost. We expect there to be a little bit of humor, and also a few twist endings that you may or may not see coming.

“Major Crimes” so far has been solid this season, so let us hope that this story will keep going and keep going strong.
