‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5, episode 2 video: Ali and Detective Holbrook

Detective Holbrook has been around “Pretty Little Liars” for the past season with mostly a singular purpose, and that is trying to get to the bottom of the Alison DiLaurentis case … while at the same time trying to figure out why most of Rosewood’s police to date have been either incompetent or dead.

Well, during Tuesday night’s “Whirly Girl” he will finally have an opportunity to ask Ali some questions, but whether or not he will get the answers he is hoping for remains to be seen. For the most part, she seems okay being in his presence, but that may change when it comes to questions regarding why she disappeared. Ali doesn’t even have all of the answers here, and that may be part of the problem.

With all of this being said … there is clearly some information she knows that neither we nor the other Liars are completely aware of yet. This situation now may also parallel that of Aria, given that Ezra told her something while he was in the hospital, and we have no idea as of yet what that something is. Did it have to do with “A’s” identity? It may be easy to think so, given that he is the only person who really saw them. This may be something the show keeps from us for a little while, just for the sake of building as much drama up as humanly possible.

In the end, we’re just happy to see Holbrook back, at least so long as he remains interesting and not a pseudo-romantic foil for Hanna. That was just creepy.
