‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2: Reflection from Clark Gregg, and wondering what’s ahead

The big show -The good news for Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” right now is simply that there is going to be more of it coming up in the future. The bad news? You have to wait for a while. The earliest that the premiere is going to air? Think along the lines of late September, at least if the past tradition holds.

The trouble with writing about season 2 right now is mostly that despite all the conventions that are being done right now featuring the cast, there is very little that is actually being said about the future. Why? Almost no one knows outside of the Whedon family and Marvel what is coming up. That occasionally leads to some awkward moments, including what we have with Clark Gregg’s interview below with HuffPost Live. The chat is lively and full of season 1 reflections, but it’s not exactly a revelation when it comes to the future. What we can mostly say right now is this:

  • You really don’t want to say “hail Hydra” around this guy.
  • We are probably not going to see many more Coulson resurrections anytime soon. One is enough.
  • With “The Avengers 2” getting closer and with other Marvel properties on the way, it will be interesting to see how the show tries to implement as much of that into its own tale as possible. We’re hoping for at least one more Samuel L. Jackson appearance, even if we are not holding out for seeing any of the big-screen heroes here. It is probably better that we don’t, just for the sake of keeping things separate.
