‘NCIS’ season 12: The latest on the ‘New Orleans’ spin-off and more

What is the state of “NCIS” right now? It’s rather interesting in a way how quiet the writers tend to keep things when it comes to this show. They have not leaked much of anything when it comes to the process or ideas that are being tossed around for the 12th season, even though filming is going to really be going strong next month.

One of the exciting things for the original series, though, is an opportunity to start with a clean slate. There are no major threads that they need to tie up, and they can spend the time this summer figuring out what really makes the characters that they have right now special.

The show that is being a little more production and revealing online right now is the “New Orleans” spin-off, which we are fairly excited about for a number of reasons. It has a great cast, a lively setting, and at least feels like it can bring something new to a CBS landscape that is already inundated with such shows.

The writers for the spin-off have been at work for well over a week now, and a good place to visit for more news on that is the Twitter account that they have set up. We always find it interesting getting a peek at what things are like behind the scenes on these sort of shows, and the environment that the writers build for themselves in order to work. This one certainly looks like there is some fun that happens in off times, but also some hard work getting a brand-new show together.
