‘Glee’ season 6: Naya Rivera on brief Twitter hiatus

For those who do care deeply about Twitter and some of the celebrities who appear on it, then you are probably pleased with the fact that the Twitter account for Naya Rivera is now online yet again. The “Glee” star started many stories and rumors just by deactivating her account for a short amount of time, but we are starting to wonder whether or not this was a smart move from a business perspective.

Why is that? In getting rid of her account, Naya managed to get a number of people (including us) wondering what was going on at a time when traditionally there is not much in the way of headlines for her or any other “Glee” star. The day after her account returned, she announced a new feature with Galore Magazine, and therein a lot of publicity. We’re not a marketing department and cannot say if any of this timing was intentional or not, but it certainly ended up creating a lot of buzz around something that Naya has technically done many times over in various forms.

As for explaining why she went away for a time, Naya claimed simply that her account needed some “beauty sleep.” Who knows? Maybe she just needed a little time getting away from the madness. Even if you are a thick-skinned celebrity and you love communicating with people / understand the responsibilities that come with being a big name, we still imagine that it has to be rather draining on certain days to look at your Twitter mentions and see a variety of sometimes-insane and awful things that are sent to you.

“Glee” should start filming a little later this year, and despite all of the rumors from earlier this spring, we expect Naya to be around in some capacity based on Ryan Murphy’s recent message that all original cast members have been invited to take part.
