’24: Live Another Day’ spoilers: Talking time jumps, Yvonne Strahovski as possible lead
What could the future hold for “24“? Now that we are more than halfway into “Live Another Day,” this is the time when some questions are starting to come in about both the state of the show now, and where it could also be moving towards the future.
The original premise of this summer series was for it to be strictly that: A show that has 12 episodes, and that is up. The producers have always been somewhat ambiguous in regards to the future, and whether or not they will turn the story into more. For the time being, they seem to be okay with leaving all possibilities open, and that even includes potentially moving beyond Jack Bauer for a story that is centered more around Yvonne Strahovski and her character of Kate Morgan (who is starting to be considered more and more the female version of Jack).
Speaking in a conference call with reporters recently (per TVLine), executive producer Howard Gordon had the following to say on the idea of a season of the show that did not include Jack in some way:
“The format itself is very study and with the right story it can be compelling. So if a [Jack-free] story presented itself to us, we would be open to it.”
Gordon also suggested that there would be a time jump at some point in this season that would allow “Live Another Day” to go for the full run of 24 hours, but he would not offer too much information on it beyond that.
