‘Girls’ season 4: Which actor is heading to Broadway later this summer?

Girls -Girls” season 4 started up production back in the middle of April, and as you certainly know by now, life for some of these actors is probably busier than it has ever been before. Just as Adam Driver, who has been juggling some of his duties with Lena Dunham and company with starring in the latest “Star Wars” film.

Now, we have learned that another actor from the show is poised to move on to something big very soon. It has been announced that following Neil Patrick Harris’ departure from “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” on August 17, Andrew Rannells is going to take over the title role on August 20. Broadway is definitely something that Andrew knows very well already, given that he won the same Tony Award that Harris did this year for his part in the original production of “The Book of Mormon.” Since that time, he has appeared on “The New Normal,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and of course multiple seasons of the Lena Dunham series as Elijah.

It has already been revealed that Rannells will be a series regular for the fourth season of “Girls,” so you should see quite a bit of him throughout in some shape or form. It will be interesting to see just how he is fully included, given that the new season will spend some time in Iowa with Hannah attending a workshop school there. All of the cast from last season will be back, but this show is notoriously coy about its storylines and refuses to give away spoilers.

What do you think: Is this the perfect role for Rannells to play in a return to Broadway, and do you think that his recent success will make him at least a solid draw? Share below, and head over here if you do wish to grab some further, sometimes-funny TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
