‘Homeland’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Smash,’ ‘King & Maxwell’ alum cast
You likely knew that the new setting for “Homeland” was going to lead to there being a variety of new characters turning up, and we have some more evidence of that now.
But, before we get to that, let’s start off here with some confirmation on the setting. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the fourth season is going to be officially set in Abbottabad, Pakistan, which should be familiar as the place in which Osama bin Laden was killed by SEAL Team Six. The interesting thing about this, which we have repeated before, was that Carrie was supposedly stationed in Turkey at the end of season 3. While we recognize that these two countries are in relatively similar parts of the world, we wonder if this shift was always meant to happen, or if this is a change that was discussed in the writers room leading up to the start of production in South Africa.
Now, let’s get to some of those castings.
Raza Jaffrey – Following his time on “Smash” and also an arc on “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland,” he will be coming on here as Aasar Khan, a lieutenant-colonel in the Pakistan Intelligence service with a history of doing really good work. This part will be heavily recurring, which means that we should see plenty of him throughout.
Michael O’Keefe – The “King & Maxwell” alum will be the deputy station chief John Redmond, the second-in-command at the CIA post in Pakistan. He will be the #2 to the character played by Corey Stoll, and there will reportedly be conflict between him and Carrie throughout the time that he is present.
