‘Under the Dome’ season 2 spoilers: Show bosses on stakes, surprises, and more
Now that it is in its second season, we are starting to finally feel more than ever before that “Under the Dome” is really entering uncharted waters. Now that there is a second season, the Stephen King book is not the only template anymore. They can start to rely more on some other things, including their imagination and whatever thoughts that Stephen King (who penned the premiere) has in his head.
In the brand-new video below from CBS, executive producers Neal Baer and Brian K. Vaughn go through the freedom that they are allowed first and foremost thanks to another season, and how that allows them to come up with new theories and ideas for what this dome could mean within the world of the show. Also, we have some of the following details:
- There are some significant deaths that will be taking place in the early going.
- Some of the ideas for early in the season that will blow fans away came courtesy of King himself.
- Junior’s uncle is one of the many new characters that will be showing up … and like many other characters, he will bring trouble with him.
- In the end, the most interesting choice of words here is with the two talking about how the dome may actually be trying to “protect” the people of Chester’s Mill, even though it may not seem to be anything even remotely like that right now. This element of surprise is part of the beauty of the show.
