‘The Newsroom’ season 3 spoilers: The future for Reese Lansing
“The Newsroom” is only going to have a tiny handful of episodes (supposedly around six) for its third and final season, so the show is going to have to do whatever it can to cram as much story in there as possible.
One character who were glad to see confirmed as back in action is none other that Reese Lansing, mostly because we were not quite sure that he would be. After all, Chris Messina is a busy guy these days, and he’s become one of the breakout stars on “The Mindy Project” after a huge third season. While his specific episode count is not exactly clear, he did tell TVLine in a new interview that there is going to be a different way in which he wants to run ACN and more now after being caught in scandal during the show’s second season:
“[He] has a whole lot of change and a major difference in his philosophy … People will be excited about the last season and bummed that it’s ending, because I think it’ll be a really good one.”
As someone who has always been a staunch defender and fan of the series, we do really hope that there is some sort of ending that really blows the socks off of some of the harsher critics, and shows that this can be the series that they’ve wanted and then some. Of course, at that point as the insatiable TV critic we will most likely find ourselves wishing that more of these people were on board the show earlier, that way it could have stuck around a while longer.
