Fall TV Preview: Is ‘The Flash’ a guaranteed win for Grant Gustin, The CW?
We have to admit right now that we are more than stoked to see “The Flash” on the air. Not only do we adore superheroes, but Grant Gustin was really great when he was on “Arrow” for a couple of episodes. All of this bodes well for a series that will live up to the Stephen Amell companion show, and prove even to some of the big-budget movies that they do not have it all down right now.
So while we have given this show plenty of coverage already, we still feel like it deserves the same Fall TV Preview treatment as everything else! Here we go…
Logline – “Barry Allen is a Central City assistant police forensics investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. A comic book fanboy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity to solve the crime has brought him right into the dangerous world of the vigilante.”
Cast – Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Rick Cosnett, Danielle Panabaker, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanaugh, John Wesley Shipp, Michelle Harrison, and Patrick Sabongui.
Producers – Greg Berlanti (writer / executive producer), Andrew Kreisberg (writer / executive producer), Geoff Johns (writer), David Nutter (director / executive producer), Sarah Schehter (executive producer.
Timeslot – Tuesday nights at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. This is a great spot for the show. It comes on before “Supernatural,” and these two should compliment and support each other very well … even better than “The Originals” did. Unless the show just tanks out, there is no reason to think that this could be dangerous for the show at all.
Our Take – So far, things are looking speedy for “The Flash.” The trailer is great, the character is already established, and The CW has a good track record with superheroes now. The only thing that is left is to deliver on all of this promise, and it will be months before we know if that comes to fruition or not.
