‘Glee’ season 6 notes: How Lea Michele, Chris Colfer are spending June

This summer is a much more interesting one for members of the “Glee” cast than any other that we’ve seen in the past five years. For the first time since the show took off, you actually see some sort of looking forward for the actors, who all know now that once filming on the sixth season is over, they will have to spread their wings and fly away.

For Lea Michele and Chris Colfer, many of their efforts as of late have been tied mostly to the literary world. Lea just released her part-autobiography, part-advice book “Brunette Ambition,” and after a lengthy tour promoting both that and her music career, she is now taking advantage of an opportunity to relax. She recently posted a photo of herself on Twitter in Hawaii, where she discussed getting an opportunity to “recharge.” We presume that “Glee” filming will resume again later this summer regardless of when the premiere date is, so now is the time to try to get in that time in the sunshine.

For Lea’s co-star Chris Colfer, he just continues to work on the upcoming third edition of his The Land of Stories series, which is coming out next month. There is a prologue for the new book in the paperback edition of the second book in the series, and he is preparing for this release early by signing books, holding contests, and doing a variety of little things that you have to do to be a successful author these days. Even with a big platform like “Glee,” it can be a hard sell convincing people to read.
