‘Rizzoli & Isles’ season 5: More details on cases, Lee Thompson Young tribute

In just under two weeks now on June 17, “Rizzoli & Isles” will be solving some mysteries again on TNT … but also dealing with a variety of other tough circumstances in the process. Season 5 has a new showrunner, some differences in the stories that will be told, and has Jane and Maura thinking even more about the future than they have before now. All of this in the end seems to constitute one of the most interesting and exciting collections of episodes that we have seen to date.

Of course, there is no need to wait any longer if you want some official details! All you have to do is look below at the official synopsis for the entire batch of episodes courtesy of the network:

“In season five, Jane and Maura will investigate more complex and dangerous cases than ever before, including the murder of a jogging mother that leads to the search for her missing baby, the pursuit of a killer who uses online ads to lure in the perfect candidate for murder, and the investigation of a man killed in his supposedly impenetrable doomsday shelter. The team will also deal with the loss of a dear friend and colleague as they say goodbye to Detective Barry Frost (Lee Thompson Young).”

There is no evidence at all that this story is getting near the end even though the Young tragedy is still something that is very fresh in the minds of many. This is an extremely successful show for TNT that brings quite a bit to the table, and we just have to hope that they honor Young with an emotional story early on, and then proceed to tell some great tales that do his past work justice.
