‘True Blood’ season 7 spoilers: Sam Trammell on different focus, brutal deaths, more
Who knew that “True Blood” would end up thanking a movie about cancer and romance to help promote its seventh season? Well, the promotional tour for “The Fault in Our Stars” has led to Sam Trammell being able to dish a little bit more on the season ahead.
In a chat on Entertainment Weekly Radio this week, one of the biggest things that Sam said to expect from this year is a very difficult philosophy when it comes to death, and also some stories that bring the show back more to some of its basics:
“I think that in the past, people have just died and there’s a ton of brutal deaths and they haven’t really been respected. But I think with Terry’s death last year we started to really respect what death is, and Brian Buckner who is running the show this year wanted to consolidate the stories and bring it back to the main cast. That is what’s happened with what he’s done, which is why audiences and fans are really going to be satisfied with this season. There’s not so much extraneous stuff happening … I think the rhythm is going to be really good. There are a lot of surprises and it definitely gets dark.”
Trammell also joked that he was just “trying to get a passing grade” when it comes to the scenes that he was required to take off his clothes for this year … and there are apparently quite a few of them over the course of the final ten episodes. Apparently, neither fatherhood nor being a Mayor is going to stop Sam Merlotte from getting involved in some interesting situations.
