MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 4 spoilers: A new character with ties to Matty

There may only be two episodes left of “Awkward” season 4 this spring, but you better believe that there are some huge things coming later this season. From the moment that you learned earlier this season that Matty was adopted, you had to think that this story could be coming back at some point.

For more on that, just take a look at who is being cast right now for a part on the show. Per TVLine, the series is currently casting an actor in his late 30s or early 40s who has a strong physical resemblance to Beau Mirchoff. They will not turn up until reasonably near the end of the fourth season, but when they do they could potentially rock Matty’s world in a big way.

There is no confirmation anywhere in here that this person is going to be related to the adoption story, but to us, it’s pretty obvious who he might be. This is the sort of change to Matty’s life that could impact the rest of the season, and we certainly hope that it plays out the right way. One other interesting thing to watch? Where the trajectory of the show takes us near the end of this season. If season 4 does end with the characters’ graduation, Matty could be facing more confusion than ever as he looks at the life that he knew for so many years, and then the life that he could have now.

Granted, we know that there are also many out there show just want that life to somehow involve Jenna.
