‘Big Brother 16’ to finally be broadcast in HD

What's she saying? -Well, this was certainly a long time coming, wasn’t it? For the first time since the very beginning of the series, “Big Brother 16” is going to be the first edition of the CBS franchise to actually air in HD.

“Big Brother” was the last regular network show to still air in standard definition, and according to Vulture, this process has literally been years in the making. The parties involved in the series have been slowly working on this process during hiatus periods for the past three years, but the transition here is a tricky one since there are so many cameras in the house and so much that needs to be changed over.

To say that this was a long time coming for the franchise would be the understatement of the year, especially given that some international editions of the show, in particular the Canadian version, have been far superior from a visual presentation. There are times here that the old-school way of doing things have just been laughable, especially when you have other advanced shows like “The Amazing Race” and “Survivor” have already made the transition over.

As we first shared yesterday, “Big Brother” has already uploaded some of their first content to their live-feed database for those who have already signed up. More of that is coming over the next several weeks. The season begins on June 26, and the internet is already aflutter with various rumors in regards to what could be coming up on the season ahead.

Are you glad that “Big Brother” is finally making the move over to HD, or would you have really been okay not having to look at people doing embarrassing things to themselves in the highest possible definition?
