‘Under the Dome’ season 2 spoilers: Official details on Stephen King-penned premiere

WhatAre you ready to travel back “Under the Dome“? June 30 is the date, and based on some of the details that CBS has revealed for the premiere, it is not going to waste any time at all when it comes to making things dramatic. Just look at the fact that the episode’s title is going to be “Heads Will Roll.” If that is not ominous, we don’t quite know what is.

This episode was written by Stephen King himself, and it will set up the story by having more of the Barbie vs. Big Jim dynamic, in addition to trying to establish a new character who could really change things for some of these characters. Want to find out more information? That’s what the synopsis below is for:

Barbie’s fate lies in Big Jim’s hands, and the Dome presents a new threat when it becomes magnetized. Meanwhile, Julia seeks out the help of a stranger to save the life of a mysterious girl who may hold clues to origin of the Dome, on the second season premiere of UNDER THE DOME, Monday, June 30 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The premiere episode was written by bestselling author and executive producer Stephen King, who also makes a cameo appearance, and was filmed on location in Wilmington, N.C. Eddie Cahill and Karla Crome join the cast as series regulars.”

All we hope is that this episode gets rid of some of the plodding and confusion at the end of season 1, and gets us into something that is faced-paced and exciting. Who knows? Now that the series knows for sure that it is continuing and is not going to follow the books anymore, they may feel a greater sense of creative energy.
