‘Fargo’ episode 8: A time reminder for ‘The Heap’
FX is proving one thing, in between “Sons of Anarchy” and now their new series “Fargo”: They have no problem with extending a show’s run time if it needs to be extended. The Kurt Sutter drama would frequently last longer than the 42-45 minutes most drama series these days are allotted, and on Tuesday night, you can definitely expect the same thing from “Fargo,” which has already had many long episodes in its run already.
Tonight’s installment “The Heap” is going to run in total from 10:00 p.m. Eastern until around 11:17, which means that the episode’s run time is probably somewhere between 55 minutes to an hour without commercials included. This makes it the longest adventure for the show to date, but also understandable given that we are not looking at a show with a huge episode count here. They have to tell their story in however much time that they have, and they do not happen to have a whole lot of time before the season comes to a close.
Another thing worth remembering here is that this show really has to find a way to conclude the entire story arc. Regardless of whether or not we see some of these same people again, it will not be with the same specific case that we have now. Do we imagine another season coming out at some point? Sure, but it will probably be after the season when we find out more about what is coming up.

I love Fargo. Give them as much time as they need.
