‘Homeland’ season 4 spoilers: ‘House of Cards’ alum among new additions
With filming for “Homeland” season 4 underway, now is fittingly the time that some of the first casting details are revealed.
Let’s start first of all with “Bored to Death” alum Laila Robbins, who is going to be a new series regular for the show and playing the part of Martha Boyd, the United States Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It’s interesting that she is the one who is coming on board, given that supposedly, Carrie was assigned now to operate a post out of Turkey. (The show is actually filming most of its scenes in South Africa.)
Meanwhile, it was also revealed that “House of Cards” alum Corey Stoll, who is also getting set to appear as the CIA Chief of Station in the country. So basically, he is in Pakistan what Carrie is in Turkey. These are prestigious positions, and supposedly the benefit here for Carrie is that she can have an opportunity to truly do now what so many others within the agency would dream of.
This season is meant to be mostly a reinvention of everything that we know when it comes to the show, which means that there will be no Nicholas Brody for the first time and Carrie really is moving on with the next phase of her life. Brody’s death will still reportedly have an impact on her, though, given that she does have a child out there that her father will presumably be caring for while she is overseas.
There is no firm premiere date yet for the season, but we expect it to launch at some point in late September / early October.

well, in real life the actor who played Carrie’s dad, passed away sadly, so that will be a plot that will shift. I assume.
