‘Girls’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Parenthood’ alum Jason Ritter signs up

Girls -Jason Ritter has a habit of getting some pretty sweet TV gigs. He remains one of the most popular characters on “Parenthood” despite being a limited presence in recent years, and we’ve now heard that he will be joining Lena Dunham and company for at least one episode of “Girls” season 4.

According to TVLine, Ritter is going to be in the sixth episode of the season in the role of Scott, and that is all that has been confirmed right now. Given that there was a specific episode mentioned already, we wonder if this is another Patrick Wilson situation where the episode will revolve heavily around them. Personally, we sort of hope so (and we know that we’re in the minority with that), since we find that episode to be one of the most brilliant and modern re-tellings of what love should be out there.

Some of the few details that have been revealed about the new season are that a significant chunk of it will be spent with Hannah in Iowa trying to improve her craft; the show tried to get permission to film at the university, but it was turned down over some of the content in the scripts. Also, we are curious about how Adam Driver will be involved, given that he has a high-profile gig in the new “Star Wars” film and there may only be so much time time in his schedule. We assume, though, that he will be back, but “Girls” is ultimately the “Mad Men” of comedy series when it comes to keeping things close to the vest and not really giving much away.
