‘The Blacklist’ season 2: Ryan Eggold coy on Tom’s future; also, he sings!

Are you missing “The Blacklist”? We certainly understand, given that we are right there with you right now. The NBC hit has been off the air now for a couple of weeks, and we’re going to be rocking back and forth with anticipation for a while.

Obviously, one of the huge questions right now is whether or not Tom Keen, the innocent guy with hipster glasses turned secret / deadly operative, is going to be alive when the series picks back up. Liz seemingly took her husband out (and not to dinner) during the two-part finale, but this is a twisted, surprising show and and almost dying does not necessarily equal actually dying.

To the credit of Ryan Eggold, he is doing everything in his power to remain coy. He appeared on “The Today Show” this past week promoting his new movie “Lucky Them,” and in addition to performing a song (which may be a new side of him to some of the show’s fans), he also briefly touched on his future. Obviously he wouldn’t say whether or not Tom lives, but he claimed that there could very well be “more to the story.”

Obviously, we’re hoping that Tom survives since his presence is very integral to the show being awesome. He is just as enigmatic as Reddington, with the added layer of intimacy to Liz given the full extent of their relationship. Therefore, there may be a nagging part of her that wants to trust him, even if the rest of her warns herself against it.
