‘The Newsroom’ season 3 spoilers: ’30 Rock’ alum goes to work at ACN
We are in the process of having the final season of “The Newsroom” film, and one of the benefits that goes along with that is simple: The opportunity to hear some casting news!
For this story, we are casting our attention on Keith Powell, and actor who you may remember for playing the writer “Toofer” on multiple seasons of “30 Rock.” According to Deadline, he has signed on to play Wyatt Geary on the HBO series, who happens to be the new Vice President of Human Relations at Atlantis Cable News. We imagine that he is going to have his hands full almost from the get-go, especially when you remember that you have Will and Mackenzie as an engaged couple, and you may also have something going on now with Don and Sloan, depending on where the new season picks up. There’s also a possible future for Jim and Maggie if they ever decide to take the plunge.
“The Newsroom” is going to only have six episodes in this last season, and thanks to that, they are really going to have to find a way to store as much good stuff in a few episodes as humanly possible. As someone who did genuinely love the first three seasons and has faith in Aaron Sorkin, we’re sure that he will find a way to make this work and then some. Hopefully, we’ll have some more big news soon, at least in the form of a premiere date.
