‘Veep’ season 3, episode 8 spoilers: Political impressions galore
Sunday night brings us close to the end of “Veep” season 3, but if there is one thing that we have learned throughout the course of this season, it is that the show is not even remotely hustling to get Selina Meyer to her big election day. Maybe they realize that if she wins the Presidency, then she can longer be veep and the entire premise of the show changes.
So instead, we’re left with a little stalling and a lot of laughs, such as what we have in the sneak peek below from this big episode. There is some strong language in it (this is an HBO show), but the premise here seems to be simple enough as Selina’s staff is preparing for a big debate by trying to predict and impersonate some of the other candidates.
The entire source of humor of this clip comes mostly out of watching just how clueless Mike is with what he is saying, and how dirty it could sound. There’s also a nice moment in here from Kent, who is one of the unsung heroes of the show. (Were it not for Tony Hale, we’d put Gary Cole into the running for Best Supporting Actor.)
While “Veep” does not always get a ton of buzz away from awards shows (which sounds almost paradoxical to say, but true), this is one of those shows that you could pick up at any point in the year and be able to enjoy. So even if you are behind on the season right now, go off and binge-watch a ton of episodes. You will be happy in the end that you did.
