‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Marquel Martin confirms Eric Hill elimination coming soon
Typically when stars of “The Bachelorette” do interviews, they do so with a pretty heavy gag order to not discuss anything that is coming up in regards to spoilers.
However, the Eric Hill passing has really fundamentally shifted some of the ways that the producers and the crew for the show do things. They are now allowing themselves to talk at least a little about what happened, given that it is common knowledge that he did not go far into Andi Dorfman’s season. Marquel Martin (a.k.a. the beloved cookie man from this season) was doing a conference call with reporters this week, and basically let it be known that Monday night would be Eric’s final episode of the show. He also touched a little on what happened, at least in terms of where he was and whether or not he leaves or was forced out:
“That episode may be a little more heartfelt or shocking … Eric leaves in an unconventional way. For maybe multiple reasons. I can’t really speak to the details being that I was just in the other room. But it’s not something that any of us had planned for or expected. This will be the last episode you see Eric, which is very, very sad.”
There are of course a number of reasons that Eric could have left, in between having something else to attend to or maybe realizing that he was not into Andi Dorfman on the level that he needed to be in order for the show to work. It’s honestly hard to say how much of this will be shown; we do not believe that production in this situation will show anything that paints him in a negative light, so if there is anything controversial that happens, we anticipate it being minimized as much as possible.
Now, you just have to wait for the episode to air. We already know that the two-night event will feature another controversy, as one contestant (not Eric) is confronted about having a girlfriend back home.
