‘Hell on Wheels’ season 4 spoilers: The latest casting call
As we’ve said a few times in the past with some of our “Hell on Wheels” articles, details are currently vague when it comes to what will be coming up in terms of the story … and intentionally so. Thanks to filming in Calgary, the series can exist in a little bubble without things getting too spoiled, and therefore we can have a pretty organic experience of watching a story unfold on TV. (In the writing world, there are not too many opportunities where you can do that.)
With all of this being said, though, we can at least tell you a further thing or two now in regards to generic casting. According to the Calgary Herald (a very good source of information given the proximity to set), the show is currently casting native men, women, and children for at least one upcoming episode. Not only that, but a 6-12-year old boy in particular will have some sort of speaking part. (Therefore, it is required that he speaks at least one native language.)
We imagine that one of the larger challenges here could come via authenticity here, given that there are so many tribal languages and dialects out there, and “Hell on Wheels” the series is not set anywhere that close to Calgary geographically. It will be interesting to see what they come up with here, just as it is interesting to see everything that they are currently planning to do with the show as a whole.
The new season of “Hell on Wheels” will premiere later this summer on AMC.
