‘Orphan Black’ season 2, episode 6 review: Helena and Sarah’s road trip
Just when you thought the relationship between Helena and Sarah on “Orphan Black” couldn’t get any better the masterminds behind the series find a way to make you want to root for these two even more.
Sarah and Helena start their road trip to find the Swan Man and it had everything you could want to see form these two sisters: Playing shadow puppets, farting in the tent and singing in the car. We have easily fallen in love with this storyline and want them to some how find a way to be sisters when all of this is finally over.
While looking for the Swan Man, Sarah goes into the church depicted in the photo and leaves Helena to stay in the car and wait for her. Helena being Helena instead decides to go to a bar across the street, drinks herself silly, arm wrestles, finds a little romance, gets into a fight and subsequently gets arrested all during the time Sarah found out more information on Duncan.
Even though Sarah saw Helena getting carted off to the police station, the cult got there before Sarah and she decides to go back with them after they tell her that they have her babies.
Sarah on the other hand calls Art to try to help Helena and then heads off to Mrs. S where she finds Rachel’s dad (Duncan). She learns that Leekie is the man behind killing Rachel’s mother (Susan) and that Leekie is responsible for basically everything bad that is happening to the clones concerning their health.
Allison is back and after not seeing her at all last week we were thrilled to have her back, especially when we saw Victor walk into Allison’s group therapy session. Victor has found Buddha and has turned out to be the best thing for Allison as he has gotten her to open up about her drinking problem. What Allison doesn’t know is that Victor is working with Art’s partner to try to figure out more about this situation (and in exchange Victor’s charges will be dropped.)
The highlight of this episode was hands down watching Helena try to sing “Sugar Sugar” by the Archies on her road trip with Sarah to find the Swan Man. It was sisterly love/annoyance at it’s best and we want more of it. Also we could watch a whole episode of Helena just eating weird things. Episode grade: A
