‘Doctor who’ season 8: Mark Gatiss pours on praise for Peter Capaldi
“Doctor Who” fans seemingly have quite a bit to look forward to this summer. For one, it has been revealed now that the upcoming eighth season is going to be premiering on the BBC later this summer. Not only that, but everyone seems to be loving what Peter Capaldi is bringing to the table as the 12th Doctor. He is sharp, he is funny, and he also has an air and a prestige about him that can make others easily in awe.
For some more on this very subject, just take a look at what Mark Gatiss (who is responsible for one of the upcoming episodes this season) had to say in a new chat with Digital Spy:
“He’s a wonderful man and one of our best character actors. I knew immediately — from watching other things — there was going to be a certain level of twinkly Scottish intensity to him … There’s madness in his eyes! He’s just an amazing dramatic actor and a very funny actor — which is exactly what you want for the Doctor.”
The best thing about Capaldi is that unlike with Matt Smith prior to his debut on the show, you don’t really have any sort of anxiety as to whether or not the part will be too much for a virtual unknown. Peter has such an extensive catalog of work that you know what he is capable of bringing to the table, and there is no reason at all to suspect that he will be anything other than amazing and then some.
