‘Mad Men’ season 7, episode 8 spoilers: Possible premiere dates for Jon Hamm, Christina Hendricks

Tonight, we saw a brilliant episode of “Mad Men” in “Waterloo,” but also were left with a feeling of frustration. Right when the series delivers what may be one of its greatest episodes ever, we are faced with the thought of not getting to see any more of the show for quite a long time.

Just how long? It has already been confirmed first and foremost that “Waterloo” was the last episode of 2014 for the show, and given what AMC has planned with the schedule already, a premiere date in late March / early April for the final seven episodes of the show seems inevitable. The network already has “The Walking Dead” and “Talking Dead” for most of February and March, and they won’t be willing to mess with that given the monster ratings they receive.

Tonight’s episode did simplify the cast somewhat, given that Robert Morse (Cooper) is no longer a part of the proceedings following the character’s death. The show seems instead to be focused now on the three of Don Draper, Roger, and Ted as they try to all figure out how to work within the confines of a new company courtesy of a buyout. Obviously, Joan, Peggy, and even Cutler are still most-likely a part of the show, but the dynamic will have shifted in a pretty dramatic fashion.

As for Jessica Pare, we may be willing to wager that Megan is done. With her and Don moving forward separately, and her in Los Angeles away from the other characters, we see no reason to bring her back the rest of the way.
