‘Survivor 29’ cast hopes, and a look ahead to the post-‘Cagayan’ future
On Wednesday night, you are going to see the end of “Survivor: Cagayan” courtesy of a three-hour spectacular that will feature two more tribal councils, and also the big reveal in regards of who is the winner.
Following that during the reunion show, though, Jeff Probst will make his annual big announcement regarding what the theme for season 30 is going to be. There are some great possibilities out there, but we feel strongly about one above all others right now: We’re probably going to get an all-new cast yet again. Thanks in part to season 30 being such a milestone (and will likely feature returning players like “Heroes vs. Villains” did), we cannot see them dipping into the former player well on this level for two straight seasons. While they have done so in the past, there has never been a season of all returning players proceeded or succeeded by one featuring them, as well.
When it comes to the twist, we’d actually like to see a show without anything too crazy, other than a way to divide the tribes into groups of three. While the Tyler Perry idol has created some drama this season, we still feel like it is by and large a bad idea. Get rid of it.
As for the location of the next two seasons, that really does not matter that much anymore. The show has used the majority of the ones that are out there that work for their crew, and unless there is a surprise coming up, we expect more and more visits to Panama, Samoa, or some other familiar places.
