‘Glee’ season 6: Kevin McHale lands another gig … this time on British TV
Kevin McHale may still have a TV gig for one more year on “Glee,” but he is already figuring out more and more just what some of his future plans are going to be. Apparently, it includes taking on a hosting job for a television show in Great Britain.
McHale has been reportedly confirmed now to be hosting a panel show on E4 entitled “Virtually Famous” which sounds somewhat like a combination of a variety show and Comedy Central’s “@midnight.” Specifically, it features “globally famous memes and Twitter rants” in addition to “the greatest YouTube posts and Vine shorts.” Comedians Seann Walsh and Chris Stark (of House Stark?) are going to be on board as captains for the show.
For McHale, we imagine that the benefit of doing a show like this is simple: It is a great summer job! You get to travel across the pond to the United Kingdom, and from there you will have an opportunity to build a larger following to increase your potential opportunities for when “Glee” ends. Who knows? Perhaps this turns into an enormous success, and he never has to worry about going out and seeking some sort of new job again.
Filming for “Glee” season 6 is not going to start until later this year, and it could even change from its traditional start time, depending on the overall episode count and the premiere date. (It was not on the Fox fall schedule.)
