‘Mad Men’ season 7, episode 7 preview: ‘Waterloo,’ Jon Hamm, and the midseason finale

Mad MenWhat is coming up on the next “Mad Men” episode? Well, you are not going to find out too many details about it in true show fashion … save of course for what we can tell you in this article.

The title for this hour is “Waterloo,” and if you are looking for an overt connection between this and the show, you’re going to have some trouble finding it. This is the final episode of 2014, so many of these stories that you are seeing in between Don’s rocky marriage, the Burger Chef situation, and Roger’s family life may finally come to a head. You can see some of this hinted at in the short synopsis below:

Don is troubled by a letter; Peggy may seek a new future on a risky venture; Roger receives a phone call; Pete and Cutler butt heads.”

We would say something more here about the promo that aired after the episode tonight, but in this case there really is no reason since it was all old footage from the season so far. AMC found a way to make their promos even more vague and useless! The largest question that we have is whether or not creator Matthew Weiner will treat this episode like it something different knowing that we will not have another episode for a very long time, or if he will throw us a bone and give us something more, given that we want to have something further to be excited about. He doesn’t operate like any other showrunner, and thanks to that, this is uncharted waters.
