‘The Mentalist’ season 6, episode 22 (finale) spoilers: Simon Baker and a realization
Tonight, “The Mentalist” comes to an end on CBS, but before you say goodbye to the show for the year, why not enjoy one more sneak peek of what to expect?
This one may actually be the most significant peek that we have shared so far, since it revolves around trying to answer a very important question: Is Patrick Jane really understanding what Lisbon is planning to do? Simon Baker’s character is in complete denial in the video peek below, telling Cho that he still does not believe by any stretch of the imagination that Lisbon is going anywhere. Instead, he feels pretty confident that she is going to end up staying, and this is all some sort of elaborate ruse.
While Cho does not physically reach up and smack Jane across the face here, he pretty much does so with his words as he informs him that Lisbon knows exactly what she is doing. Then, there’s just enough doubt in Jane’s face to tell him that maybe he is going about all of this in the wrongest possible way. If he wants to get Lisbon in his life forever, he needs to actually make a move.
Ultimately, this is the focus of the episode “Blue Bird,” and the story will jump off from here before building towards a romantic conclusion that could not only tie some things together for this season, but open up at least enough story possibilities for the upcoming season 7.
What do you think about this sneak peek, and do you think that this is the scene that really shakes Jane out of his denial?
