‘Downton Abbey’ season 5: All about Michelle Dockery’s kind gesture
Michelle Dockery has shown a few times now that she has quite the heart for giving back, and the latest story all about the actress further proves that as she is taking a big moment for her and spinning it into a way to give money to a number of deserving charities.
The actress, who you better know as Lady Mary from “Downton Abbey,” is reportedly going to sell off her Emmy dress in order to raise money for Oxfam to help people suffering in Syria. This has been a huge international crisis, and one that has probably received even more media attention in Great Britain than it has in North America. In a statement, Dockery said that hoped the buyer “will get as much pleasure from it as I did when I wore it to the Emmy awards and that we can raise as much money as possible to support the Syrian people.”
Michelle is at the moment an exceptionally busy woman, having spend the past several weeks filming some new scenes for the ITV series. The show is going to be premiering again in Great Britain this fall, and with her as a regular, there are few opportunities for her to stop and breathe during the production. Filming will conclude a little bit later this summer, and it is very well possible that she will have another opportunity to visit the Emmys soon.
