‘The Amazing Race 24’ finale preview: Trying to predict likely winner

Amazing Race -Be prepared for a shocking statement here, but on tonight’s finale for “The Amazing Race 24,” literally almost anyone could end up winning. With the show being set in a place like Las Vegas, most of the physical advantages one team has over another will be pretty offset.

Whoever wins tonight episode is going to be based on a combination of a few things: Skill (how quickly they can complete challenges), preparation (keeping track of everything that happened for the inevitable memory task), and also a little bit of luck since you never know where a cab is going to be or how quickly you will make it out of customs.

This is actually one of the first times ever that we have a hard time even ranking the contestants because of all this being so close. while Dave & Connor are strong racers and have won the majority of the legs, being in a familiar city will level the playing field somewhat. Rachel has an advantage in that she knows Las Vegas well already (remember the “I am Vegas” rant from “Big Brother 12”), and the editing gives us this inescapable feeling that Caroline & Jennifer may be able to pull of a Josh & Brent sort of finish and win the whole competition.

In the midst of everything that has happened this season, we find it hilarious that the thing that we are somewhat still the most concerned about right now are rules for the number of Roadblocks, given that it looks very likely that Connor is going to finish doing way more of these than Dave. There’s still no definitive answer out there about the rules; we don’t think that the two are breaking anything by any means, but it’s strange that the show never bothered to let us know that there was some sort of change.

In addition to having a full review of the finale later at the link here, we’ll also have some of the first teases about what you can expect on the show next season. Be on the lookout for that, and sign up now to get some further TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
