‘The Originals’ season 2 spoilers: Whom the witches name Lenore
For some reason, we particularly love the fact that “The Originals” is starting to dive a little more and more into names that are somewhat tied to the world of Edgar Allan Poe … and that is the inspiration for this new story today regarding season 2 casting.
With Monique and Genevieve now gone from the world, it only makes sense that there would be a new character of this variety entering the world of the show. This is where Lenore comes into play. According to a report from E! News, the show is casting someone named Lenore (quoth “The Raven”), who is described as a “salt-of-the-Earth” witch who will appear in the third episode of the season, which is one of the few that is being shot this spring. Also, this character is going to be an adversary of sorts of Klaus.
Is it really that big of a surprise that someone is going to be pretty interested in going to war against Joseph Morgan’s character? It really shouldn’t be, since he has made his entire living and reputation off of being one of the most not-nice people imaginable, especially when it comes to witches. We assume that there is probably not any other concrete connection between this Lenore and the one from “The Raven” save for the name, but it would be interesting if the show did decide to carve out a few assorted anecdotes here and there.
We only hope that this character meets somewhat of a decent fate, since witches and “The Originals” have not exactly mixed well so far. With the exception of Davina, the majority of the notable characters of this persuasion have not made it out of this world alive.
