‘Saturday Night Live’ finale preview: First look at Andy Samberg, St. Vincent

SNL -Brace yourselves, “Saturday Night Live” fans: Andy Samberg is back! The former cast member / star of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” is coming back for the season finale this weekend, and there is the potential for all sorts of craziness to occur. Not only does Andy have a whole slew of famous friends, but he also could revive at least for one night the famous Digital Short bit that brought us “Captain Jack Sparrow” and a certain body part that you stuck in a box.

Here is probably the biggest question mark when it comes to Andy’s return to the show: What all will the show use him with? The irony here is that while Andy is likely going to do all sorts of live sketches for this weekend’s edition of the show, he never was really known for doing those on “SNL” itself. Instead, more of his claim to fame was doing the pre-taped bits or things that he could use to tap into his musical sensibilities.

It actually haven’t been that long since we saw Andy on the show, given that he made a cameo appearance for the last “Weekend Update” with Seth Meyers, making a quick little joke about how he did not realize that Seth was leaving.

As for the musical guest this weekend, we have St. Vincent! Not everyone may know who she is just yet, but you should given that she brings so much style to her performances. We also love that “SNL” went a little bit in a surprising direction with their finale tonight, rather than just bringing in someone expected. (Plus, Justin Timberlake could end up appearing anyway, or St. Vincent could bring along some of her own friends.)
