NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 6 finale: Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Tim McGraw, more to appear
“The Voice” has borrowed a few concepts from “American Idol” and other singing shows over the years, but one you cannot really blame them for in the slightest is integrating big-name talent all across the board.
So who is going to be performing on the big finale Tuesday night? Let’s start first and foremost with Coldplay, given that Chris Martin was a mentor on the show a little earlier this year. The band will be celebrating the release of their new album “Ghost Stories” by hitting the stage.
In addition to Martin and company, you will be getting some music of former “Voice” advisers Ed Sheeran and Ryan Tedder (in the form of his band OneRepublic), while Tim McGraw will bring a little bit of country flair. You better believe that there will be at least one moment where McGraw and Jake Worthington are placed together and Jake falls over dead like he is just seen the Holy Grail.
While we’re not the biggest Jake fan, at least this is one of the show’s most interesting finales to date. We would’ve assumed a week ago that Christina Grimmie was the runaway favorite to win, but after she needed the support of America to advance to the finale via social media, we’re not saying that the pendulum has swung over to Josh Kaufman. If he wins, he would make Usher the first-ever coach besides Adam Levine and Blake Shelton to win a season of the show. (Usher also has some powerful friends to help buy singles, including Scooter Braun and Justin Bieber. You may not love the latter, but he still has his fans.)
