‘Downton Abbey’ season 5 notes: More Lily James – Laura Carmichael updates

Given the news that Lily James may not be in “Downton Abbey” season 6 thanks to her promotional efforts with the upcoming film version of “Cinderella,” it only seems appropriate to start things off with the first teaser trailer for this production, which is coming to films next year. The unfortunate news here is merely that this trailer really does not reveal much at all when it comes to this character. Instead, we have a glass slipper that takes center stage, and for the first half of this trailer, we have no idea what this slipper is.

Still, this movie is likely to propel James to stardom in a way that not even many of the show’s leads have so far, at least if we are to compare this to some other enormous Disney productions. The House of Mouse is also on a roll right now thanks to “Frozen,” and has figured out that the way to go is creating timeless classics rather than just pop-culture references left and right.

As for other news related to James right now, she was reportedly spotted alongside her co-star Laura Carmichael following a gala at … Windsor Castle? That’s right. That’s how you officially know that you are kind of a big deal, and not just in a cheesy Ron Burgandy kind of way. If royalty wants to spend time with you, then you have to feel pretty good that you may be doing the right thing with your life.

While all this is going on, season 5 of “Downton Abbey” is still filming throughout various parts of the United Kingdom, and it will premiere this fall on ITV.
