‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15, episode 24 (finale spoilers): Will Mariska Hargitay’s Benson adopt?

“Law & Order: SVU” has been a very difficult 23 episodes so far for the Olivia Benson character, so before we end for the time being, it only seems appropriate that she may at least get a minute or two to breathe. That is going to come during the big season finale next week, where she starts to really look towards what her future could be.

Is it possible that Mariska Hargitay’s character could adopt? This will be one central theme of this big episode (entitled “Spring Awakening”), but it’s not the only story. As the synopsis below teases, Amaro is going to have to pay the piper for everything he has done:

“Amaro’s (Danny Pino) recklessness once again makes him the target of Internal Affairs, and he has no choice but to face the consequences. With his professional and personal life at risk, he looks to his friend John Munch (Belzer) for advice. Meanwhile, an online ad for escorts leads to the rape and robbery of several male tourists, and one of the suspects has a surprising connection to Sergeant Benson (Mariska Hargitay) that may change her life forever.”

In the end, this will be a culmination of the entire season, and we’d like to see Benson become a mom at this point. After all that she’s been through, we feel like the show has finally done enough to pay off this big step in her life. Also, Mariska may be able to tap into her own experiences as a mom for this performance.
