‘Mad Men’ season 7, episode 6 preview: Jon Hamm, ‘The Strategy,’ and a new bed
Whenever a “Mad Men” promo shows off Don Draper sleeping in a bed without any clothes on, it is fair to assume the worst. That is what we witnessed in the short promo for next week’s all-new episode “The Strategy,” even if the show did not exactly make a whole lot of effort to give us much more beyond this. (That is the tradition with “Mad Men” promos!)
Luckily, we do have a short synopsis below from AMC, and while it does not offer any new enlightening information about the Don story, you can at least see what everyone else is up to:
“Peggy collects research for a pitch; Pete receives an invitation to an exclusive club; Joan is eager to spend time with her friend. “
Can you believe that there are only two installments left before we are at the end of the road for 2014? The luxury that comes out of this seems to be that it is motivating the show to really tie together loose ends and tell stories without hesitation. Take, for example, what happened with Ginsberg. The terrible thing is that you are forcing us to wait 45 weeks between seasons of a very great show when there is no real reason for it other than you want to keep people waiting and also get yourself some further Emmy consideration. This isn’t like “Breaking Bad,” where the parts of the seasons are being filmed in bunches. It is being taken on all at once.
Let’s just hope that as we near the end of the episodes in 2014, it provides everything that we are hoping for and then some.
