‘Call the Midwife’ season 3, episode 8 (finale) spoilers (PBS): Jessica Raine front and center

What is going to be coming up on the “Call the Midwife” finale? While we cannot share every detail about it just yet, it is actually not an exaggeration at all to sit here and say that this is actually the most important episode in the history of the series. (Warning: There are some spoilers ahead … just not major ones.)

The biggest story in this episode revolves around Jessica Raine and the Jenny Lee character, and it turns the entire world of this show upside down. She is a character who has spent most of this season struggling and trying to figure out what her identity and her future is moving forward in her life. She finally figures some of that out this week, and it may take a good many of you by surprise.

As for some other stories that will be resolved in this episode, you’ll find out more when it comes to what Trixie wants out of her life, and also some sort of button on the tale of Shelagh’s adoption. We would not consider this to be a cliffhanger ending in some ways, but the thing to remember with “Call the Midwife” is that these shows almost always have a time jump. This means that there will still probably be some movement forward when season 4 happens. The show will be filming soon in the United Kingdom, with the premiere date being early next year on the BBC. If the tradition holds with PBS, this means that it will probably premiere in March again.
