‘Community’ cancellation: See Alison Brie, Danny Pudi, Gillian Jacobs, and more react
Just in case you were not tearing up already at the news that “Community” has been canceled by NBC after five seasons on the air, here is something else that could very well have you emotional: Some of the first messages from the show when it comes to the end of the series.
Remember here that it is still too early for us to really be able to determine what the future of the show could be beyond NBC. Might it be picked up for another service? It’s possible, that is hardly something that is a given. Take a look at some of what the cast had to say for now via Twitter.
Danny Pudi – “I love you Community. I love you Greendale. Thank you to all the Human Beings who made this the coolest 5 year college experience.”
Alison Brie – “Thank you, Community fans, for 5 seasons of incredible, heartwarming support. So deeply proud to have been a part of this. #darkesttimeline”
Joel McHale – “Thanks Community fans for being the greatest that have ever walked the earth & Thanks @danharmon for letting me be on the coolest show ever.”
Gillian Jacobs – “Thank you for the love, best fans in the world. Thank you @danharmon for the best job of my life. #ePluribusAnus”
Ken Jeong – “A most heartfelt THANK YOU to all the Community fans. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. My life is so blessed because you’re all in it. Chang The World.”
Jim Rash – “Dean an honor. Thank YOU fans. U got us 2 five. & thank you @danharmon @cpmckenna Envious & humbled by ur creative minds. Best job ever.”
We’ll have some more updates on this process soon, but hopefully come Monday at the upfronts we can get a little more information as to why the show is canceled, and what it can be done moving forward. The surprising news now is the Deadline report that Dan Harmon may be ready to move on despite there being interest elsewhere.
