‘The Good Wife’ season 5, episode 21 preview: A Julianna Margulies – Michael J. Fox tease

Can you believe that we are already at the end of “The Good Wife” season 5? After last season was somewhat polarizing (especially in the early going), most of the 20+ episodes here have been a step above, and a return to the show that so many people loved to have on the air in the first place.

As we near the end of the season, though, it is becoming more and more apparent that everything that Alicia has been through already this season is going to have zero bearing whatsoever on how she is treated by the rest of the people around her … including Louis Canning. Michael J. Fox is back for another appearance, and in the scene below, he and Julianna Margulies’ character have a heated debate all about whether or not they are going to be able to resolve a case before they go to the courtroom. Louis believes that the circumstances surrounding it benefit him heavily, but Alicia is not willing to give out a settlement that is as rich as what Louis offers.

With all of this in mind, hopefully it means that there is some very good courtroom stuff ahead. This is where this show is at its best, especially when you have people like Louis and her at the center of it who are skillful manipulators. They each use very different strategies to get what they want, but in the end, their results are still the results. That is what matters more than anything else.
