‘The Mentalist’ season 6, episode 21 preview: Jane, Lisbon, and a couch

Tonight marks the penultimate episode of “The Mentalist,” and also a major opportunity for us to finally get even more answers when it comes to the status of Jane and Lisbon’s relationship. Is there ever going to be a way in which these two can get together? We should know the answer to this very question a little bit better during Sunday’s “Black Hearts” … though we may not know everything just yet.

A couch plays a major role in the sneak peek video below, as we also start to question why in the world Jane is sleeping on one wearing a suit coat and a dress shirt. Is he just that tired, or does he actually like going to bed dressed like he is already set for work? Lisbon proves herself once again to be a good person in trying to care for this guy, even though he is often aloof and distant when it comes to talking about his feelings.

For example, he does so again here at a time where Lisbon could be ready to talk to him about if there are any feelings that are there. Why does he tell her to answer his phone instead? Maybe he’s reading the context clues that this could be a rejection talk since she wants to be with Pike, and he doesn’t want to be in a position where he would have to hear this at all.

In the end, the real answers to this question will come during the finale next week … and thanks to the recent and surprising season 7 renewal, there is no reason to worry about that being the end of the characters’ story.
