‘Britain’s Got Talent’ review: Meet Bars and Melody, Jon Clegg, The Addict Initiative
Going into tonight’s “Britain’s Got Talent” there was one significant question on our mind: Were we going to see Simon Cowell finally use that much-hyped golden buzzer? He was the only judge who hadn’t pushed it to this point, and given where we are in the season, this felt like the right time to see it happen.
The editing tonight was tragically predictable, since you knew that it was going to be coming by the end of the show, after several bad acts.
The Addict Initiative – We’re trying to figure out whether or not this group was actually good, or just really creepy. Regardless, we understand why they were put through … even if most of these huge dance groups do nothing for us.
Jon Clegg – It takes a ton of bravery in order to do Simon Cowell in front of Simon Cowell … though that was honestly his weakest impression. The Marge Simpson and the Louis Walsh nearly killed us. One of the best impressionist the show has ever had.
Yanis Marshall, Arnaud and Mehdi – The first thing that this group really needs to focus on now is to try to come up with a new name. This is way too long! Outside of that, everything else here was brilliant. It was like combining a wait staff and the Showbears.
Bars and Melody – This was that act you knew was going to be really good. They already have a big following on YouTube, and for their ages, they were actually pretty good. The biggest thing that does irritate us somewhat is that the anti-bullying movement has been used for publicity just as much as the cause here, but we actually believed the message here.
