‘The Tomorrow People,’ ‘The Carrie Diaries,’ ‘Star-Crossed’ canceled by The CW
Sadly, there will be no season 2 for either “The Tomorrow People” or “Star-Crossed.” Today, The CW decided that both shows were going to be kicked to the curb, and you will not see any more of either one of them.
Of the three, we cannot really say that any is a surprise. “The Carrie Diaries” had low ratings, and may have only been saved courtesy of it airing on Friday nights. Meanwhile, “Star-Crossed” was hurt just from low ratings in general, and while “The Tomorrow People” had a chance, it just couldn’t pull out the numbers in the end to justify being put on the schedule for the new season. That was the show that had the most potential, though, and we only wish that there had been some sort of better ending to the recent season finale.
Is there hope for another network to pick up any of these shows? At the moment, we would pencil that in as “very unlikely.” You got to remember here that these shows are already low-rated as it is, and it is going to be very hard for another network to really be that interested in swooping in and grabbing them. This is just part of the TV reality sometimes. Shows get canceled, and sometimes they are not the ones that you see coming. We knew that The CW was going to have to be somewhat gratuitous letting shows go this year, given that they had “The Flash” and “iZombie” as near locks for series pickups, and some other shows were bound to join them.
