‘The Newsroom’ season 3 spoilers: The latest casting scoop
We are big fans of anything and everything related to “The Newsroom,” and with that in mind, why not come to look at some of the latest characters joining the show.
The following character names come courtesy of TVLine, and they will at least have a semi-important role in the show’s final six episodes … which are already hyped up to be much-improved after creator Aaron Sorkin strangely apologized for the past two seasons.
Wyatt – The head of human resources at ACN, who we assume is going to have his hands full thanks to all the inter-office romances going on right now. Will and Mackenzie will hopefully still be either engaged or married when the show returns, and then you have Maggie and Jim along with Sloan and Don as possibilities.
Alex – A staffer at ACN in her twenties who files some sort of complaint against two network producers. There’s not a whole lot to go on here with the limited information we have, save for that this could be an opportunity for the show to comment on some of the commentary surrounding young people (especially women) in this sort of workplace. The show has come under fire at times for its female characters.
Given that we are still completely gripped by this series, we are interested in finding out what happens from here. Unfortunately, we will probably be waiting a while. Given the current filming timeline, the earliest we could feasibly see a new season is late summer or early fall. Our guess is that this show could be factored in around the time that “Boardwalk Empire” is in its own final season.
We’ll have for (ahem) news on “The Newsroom” as it breaks. Also, be sure to sign up for further updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter on all we cover.
